Hi, I'm Ragu — a Senior Python Developer passionate about building scalable backend systems, distributed architectures, and AI-powered developer tools.

I currently work as the Backend & Infrastructure Lead at SMTlabs (Vodafone Idea), where I design high-performance APIs, event-driven systems, and production infrastructure for telecom applications serving large-scale operations. My work spans FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Linux, and modern DevOps practices, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and clean architecture.

Before moving into enterprise backend engineering, I spent years building large-scale web automation platforms, high-concurrency scraping systems, and serverless applications. That experience taught me how complex systems behave under real-world constraints—and continues to influence how I design resilient software today.

Lately, I've been exploring how AI can improve software engineering workflows. From self-hosted LLM-powered code reviews in GitLab CI/CD to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and developer automation, I'm interested in practical AI that solves real engineering problems.

I also enjoy contributing to open source, with contributions to curl_cffi and pyseto, and I believe sharing knowledge is one of the best ways to grow as an engineer.

Everything I publish on this blog is based on work I've personally implemented, tested, or operated in production. I don't write theoretical tutorials or simply rephrase documentation. Instead, I share the architectures, design decisions, performance optimizations, debugging techniques, and engineering trade-offs that emerged while building real-world systems.

You'll find articles covering topics such as Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, DevOps, AI engineering, RAG, web automation, and production debugging. Whenever possible, I include the reasoning behind the solution, what worked, what didn't, and the lessons learned from deploying and maintaining software at scale.

My goal is to create practical, experience-driven content that helps engineers solve real problems faster and build better software with confidence. If you're interested in backend engineering, system design, performance optimization, or applying AI in production, I hope you'll find something valuable here.

Happy reading!
